Frontend / System Engineer · Indonesia

I design software for critical systems.

I’m M. Fauzan F., also known as Flik. I started closer to electronics and production engineering, then moved deeper into frontend and system engineering for critical applications.

Featured Projects

These projects came from problems I met directly while building frontend and system tools: API mocking, DDS testing, map rendering limits, and real-time visualization.

Layang

I started Layang because API documentation and mocking, especially for gRPC, can get confusing when frontend work has to move before the backend is ready. The goal is to keep documentation, mock responses, scenario testing, and workspace files in one place instead of jumping between separate tools.

The name has a small meaning behind it: in Javanese, layang can mean a message or letter, while in Indonesian, layang-layang means kite.

Loka.gl

I started Loka.gl after running into map rendering limits with canvas and WebGL2 engines. Canvas is good visually, and WebGL2 is stable, but dense critical-track displays can become difficult when icons, shapes, labels, and stacked styles all need to live together. Loka.gl explores WebGPU for 10k+ moving tracks and layered map objects.

The name comes from loka, a Sanskrit word meaning world, place, or realm, and GL as a graphics library idea for WebGPU-based map rendering.

System Engineer / Lead Frontend

Leading and building frontend parts of Combat Management System interfaces. My work includes frontend architecture, microfrontend patterns, desktop application packaging, GIS/map workflows, and reusable UI libraries for real-time operational systems.

One achievement I’m proud of is designing a microfrontend architecture for web-engine-based critical systems, then mapping the application structure and integration boundaries with C4 models.

System Engineer / Software Developer

Built command-and-control interfaces and map-based tools, including S-57 map server workflows, combat management modules, radar video visualization, and GIS track management.

Electronics / Product Engineer

My career started in electronics, where I worked around production quality control, product service, repair, production optimization, PCB-related work, test jigs, and BOM preparation. That background is still important to me because I enjoy control systems and the connection between hardware behavior and software visualization.

Articles

I write notes from what I learn while building frontend systems: architecture decisions, microfrontends, real-time UI, mapping, and developer tooling.
